Formula:
- Chloranphenicol 0.50 g
- Benzocaine 1.00 g
- Dexametasone 0.02 g
- Chlorobutanol 0.40 g
- Propylene glycol q.s.p. 100 ml
Presentation: Dropper bottle, 20 ml
Action:
Antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory. Chloramphenicol: Broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Dexamethasone: A corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effects, reducing exudation, erythema, and itching. Chlorobutanol and Propylene Glycol: Act as bacteriostatic, bactericidal, and fungicidal agents. Propylene glycol also reduces edema due to its hygroscopic action. Benzocaine: Provides immediate local anesthetic relief.
Indications: Acute otitis externa and media Otic furunculosis
Dosage and Administration:
Apply 2 to 3 drops into the external ear canal 2 to 3 times per day, massaging the base of the ear afterward to ensure proper penetration and distribution. For chronic cases, Paulderm Ótico is recommended.
